LED signs to play part in World Cup 2018 bid

LED signs to play part in World Cup 2018 bid England is gearing up to persuade the world that it is worthy of hosting the 2018 World Cup. The latest reports suggest that LED signs and displays will be used to encourage the decision-makers behind the tournament that this country will make an ideal host.

At present, LED signs play a significant role in the English Premier League, with most major teams using advertising hoardings powered by LEDs and capable of displaying complex animation to help drive revenues. Now many of these same LED signs will be dedicated to spreading the word about the 2018 bid and hopefully winning the approval and support of football fans around the country.

The neutral turf of Wembley Stadium is also to see an update to the advertising and animations that are displayed on its numerous LED systems, with the English Football Association (FA) attempting to drum up backing for the bid. Such high profile venues will clearly have a significant impact on fans, with the scale and the flexibility of LED signs ensuring that the message can be delivered in an engaging manner.

The bid for England to host the 2018 World Cup has been underway for some time now, but at present it remains a relatively low-profile campaign, perhaps due in part to the limited advertising that has thus far been employed to publicise it. However, the planned use of highly visible LED signs and systems is likely to be a step in the right direction.

The final decision as to which country will win the opportunity to host the 2018 World Cup is set to be made in December, so the organisers in England only have a few months to harness the power of LED signs and get the message across.
