Medical centre installs desk top LED boards

Medical centre installs desk top LED boards A major US hospital is installing LED screens which will display a variety of information for staff and visitors.

Berkshire Medical Center, in Massachusetts, has teamed up with Desktop Alert to provide an array of digital displays to the hospital.

The innovative screens will be installed on the centre's desks, ceilings and walls so they will be highly visible to employees and visitors.

For staff, the screens will be used to communicate emergency alerts and other information such as patient charts and x-ray results.

In addition, the LED boards are to feature live streaming from operations for staff to watch.

Visitors can watch video and audio files which will be displayed on the screens.

Howard Ryan, chief executive of the screen supplier, states that the innovative technology can help to safely run hospitals.

"The gestation of such systems within the medical industry shows a genuine concern for patient and employee safety and awareness," he said.

LED screens were recently incorporated into a Canadian medical centre so visitors could easily locate relatives.
